Bickling Financial Services’ Robin Urciuoli’s CFP® and CPA Dual Role
Did you know that April is Financial Literacy month?
As a financial advisor with Bickling Financial Services, I am proud to have the dual accreditations of being a Certified Financial Professional (CFP®) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
As Financial Literacy month comes to a close, I would like to share some brief thoughts from the unique perspective of having been in both roles of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner.
My career started in public accounting & auditing which taught me the importance of attention to detail and record keeping. It also required asking clients to provide information they might find difficult to share.
While working in public accounting, tax preparation made me aware of how current decisions may have both intended and unintended consequences. It is possible to have a healthy balance between your personal priorities and regulations. There must be clear and open communication with a financial professional who understands both your aspirations and reality.
It was a natural transition to become a Financial Advisor and begin to work with clients and guide them to realize their goals. A destination is reached by smart steps taken one at a time, all the while staying flexible enough to navigate changes throughout the journey.
Having these dual designations allows me to address a client’s needs through the perspective of the CFP® and possessing the CPA knowledge on how to best proceed on a given matter. It is refreshing to be able to factor in the the qualitative information clients shared with me while still using quantitative knowledge. I feel privileged that clients trust me enough to share their hopes, goals and life events as we work together to meet their financial and personal milestones. At Bickling Financial Services, we take pride in being fiduciaries and assisting each client to do what is best for them. We aim to bring your dreams and reality as close together as possible.
